1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using DecibelView (the “App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Description of service

DecibelView is a mobile application that estimates ambient noise levels using your device’s microphone and displays them visually. The App is provided “as is” for personal and non‑commercial use.

3. User responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use the App only for lawful purposes
  • Not misuse the App in a way that could damage devices or services
  • Be responsible for any information you enter into the App (such as notes)

4. Data and privacy

Your use of the App is governed by our Privacy Policy. In summary:

  • Readings, notes, and timestamps are stored locally on your device.
  • The App does not collect accounts, contacts, or precise GPS location.
  • Ads are served via Google AdMob using standard identifiers.

5. Advertising

The App may show banner and interstitial advertisements. Ad content is provided by third parties. We do not endorse, warrant, or guarantee any advertised products or services.

6. No guarantees of accuracy

Decibel readings are estimates and depend on your device hardware and environment. The App is not a calibrated measurement instrument and should not be relied upon where precise sound measurements are legally or medically required.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Qaribuhub Solutions LTD and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including loss of data or loss of profits.

8. Data loss

Because data is stored locally on your device, we are not responsible for loss of data caused by device failure, app deletion, or other circumstances. You are responsible for backing up any information you wish to keep.

9. Modifications to the App

We may update, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part of it) at any time without prior notice.

10. Changes to these terms

We may modify these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The “Last updated” date will be revised when changes are made. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya, without regard to conflict of law principles.
